Mr. Santiago Lopez focuses his practice on family and immigration law. Mr. Lopez has worked in complex family law cases including Divorce, Equitable Distribution, Custody and Visitation, Spousal Support or Alimony, Child Support, Appeals from the Division of Child Support Enforcement, Pre and Post Marital Agreements, Separation Agreements, and Adoptions. His experience also includes cases involving parties located in Virginia and overseas, especially, in family law related issues involving the interpretation and enforcement of foreign judicial orders. Mr. Lopez immigration practice includes petitions for permanent residency (employment and family based), visas, and petitions for naturalization (citizenship). Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lopez was the Compliance Officer at Viamericas Corporation, a Maryland based money transmitter company, where he oversaw the company’s compliance with federal and state financial regulation and other private law issues, including service agreements and collections. Mr. Lopez received his law degree from the Rosario University in Bogota, Colombia and his Master in International Law from the Washington College of Law at American University. Mr. Lopez is a member of the Virginia State Bar since 2009. He is also a member of the Fairfax County Bar Association and the Hispanic Bar Association of Virginia. Mr. Lopez is fluent in English and Spanish.
